Merry Christmas!

Tell my boys & Grandson to stop growing will ya? The women are outnumbered here by boys, boys!
This fabulous cross created by artist sis Ivy Jeanne. . .
Endearing Madonna & Child artwork on Christmas cards. Love them. 'For unto you a child is born. . .'
Another beauty from Maui, crafted by artist Carla Ganginni . Lorin's reaction was, oh--now you have crossed on over to strange. . .but believe me, it grows on you (if you are a shell lover) and it's lovely!

December on Maui

Top shell frame is crafted by my sis Ivy, the bottom is a friend of hers named Jory. Amazing!

I went to Jaws with my sister and brother-in-law for a morning jaunt to watch the large wave surfers surf. These waves were 30=40 ft.
At a Christmas craft fair, SHELL TOPIARIES! I came home with a lovely white on white piece.
Beautiful Mei Li and McKenna. McKenna walks on her tiptoes, it's a rare skill at age 1. Mei Li is the best Aunty ever!
And I found my dear mother well and in good spirits for which the trip was truly about. She is pictured with flowers from her sons.

Handmade Pottery & Chunky Bracelet

Sarah and I went thrifting today. If you ever do this, you know it's shopping as random as it gets--and today's theme was pottery, pottery, and hey, pottery. This fun loot was purchased at two thriftstores for a total of $14. And to those creative people who created these: Laura, Dean, arc, Gabriel & Maria E., I thank you. It was a special day when you were in a pottery class body bent over to handcraft these pieces, no doubt it was an adventure. . .maybe it wasn't perfect, somehow they ended up in a Corona thriftstore. . .but they ended up happily to a couple of girls who appreciated the color & creativity. We appreciate the imperfect. I poured myself a cup of coffee in one of these mugs this evening and giggled because of the perfect imperfections, there's a comfortableness about someone's creative piece in my hands and home.
Made by Maria E., possibly my favorite of the day!
Did I mention that Sarah is a Master Ninja Bead Jeweler? She made me this chunky bracelet. I think Babysitting for Jewelry might be on my agenda!

Beginner's Sketches & Sarah Brings Kawai to Cali

Doodling when I can, in my 5x5 Journal Sketchbook.
And experimenting with watercolor.

I've been MIA. We have a homecoming to share with you. Sarah moved back to California with darling Kawai.
Every day is filled with activity. . .there is hardly a craft to be done! Grieve not self, there's a time for every season! All that arts and crafts will return as I'm never far away from what I love to do.

I've committed to a Bible Study Fellowship class this year and we are studying the Book of John, from September to May! Just another tidbit to be MIA.

Frank's sketching.  Martin Luther King, love it.  Found in his messy room.
Sideyard printing of family names in cement work that Lorin has laid. . .
Just the beginning of a beautiful pathway Lorin has created to our side yard, gate area.  Lorin stamps the home with his skilled work.

I Bee Boppin': Lacette, Boys, Baseball & Beach

Am I not working that title?  Clever me.  After my day at Redondo Beach, the full moon accompanied me home. Do not attempt to do this peeps unless --even then it's inadvisable--
you are stuck on the 91 freeway going 5 mph.  Lorin installed a new stereo system in the Windstar and I listened to a compilation of oldie Love songs.   Songs I heard in my youth that  instantly reminded me of my mental state of being.  Clueless.  Naive, full of anticipation.   Oldies as in:  Leo Sayer's "When I Need You"; a lullaby for all grown ups. . .The Stylistics's "You Are Everything"--'Everything is You'; lyrics so simple it kills ya.  How about The Association!  OOOOH!  "Never My Love". . .this sweetness out of the past, so tender it makes me wanna cry.  Thanks Lorin for installing my stereo this week, I can always depend on you to provide me with the source from which these tunes fill cars and home!
My booty today.  Redondo Beach did not have too much offerings but you just receive what there is & hope for a better day in the future.  Lots of children playing, umbrellas on the beach.  Makes up for the, uh kinda dirty shoreline. . .watermelon rinds, bags and plastics. . .
This Angel's hat is becoming that piece of clothing that completes my ensemble!  Bad hair day?  No worries I have a solution!

Luke & Noah back to back at Angel's Stadium for a little height comparison, Noah is two years behind Luke, but it looks like he could overtake Luke soon. . .it's amusing to see these faces with teen angst (Noah is a "tween" at eleven).  So, while I shelled this weekend, Lorin is rockin' the front side pathway--photos to come!

What I do while laundry piles & dust bunnies gather. . .

A polaroid of my thinking/praying self portrait. . .because I am a bit impressed with myself.  Note:  the space to write a message!  Clever me!
Self was made after I doodled in my journal a polaroid. . .well yes, why not?
Every woman needs a man who is pleased just to have her around even if she's playing with crafts!  Thanks poopy doo.  Was it gloriously fun to create!
And, as I have lost my first weekly journal. . .I broke down & began another one.  A girl like me cannot have too many artsy journals.

Scrap Before Sarah Moves In!

Good news!  Sarah and Kawai are moving in for an unspecified time--and I know I best get some scrapbooking in as I've been absent from the scene--four months now?!  I've never taken this much time away from scrapbooking.  On my table are three joyful things I am doing:  sketching, carving stamps and now a little scrapping.

Rock Creek from my pocket camera!

Zeus is keeping watch for his brothers in Tom's Place. . .will I get a snack too?  (Uh, no.)
Uncle Gary on the left is the best, always cooking up fab dinners and smores.  Most nights around the campfire.

Comfy trailer.
LOL.  Our space, cozy.
Luke & Frank did a hike on the own their own & took my camera for a few shots, you did good boys!
